On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, the Lexington Public School District will participate in World Read Aloud Day sponsored by Lit World®, a non-profit organization created to strengthen kids and communities through the power of stories.
Lit World® believes, “Stories are humankind’s greatest resource, and are the key to creating social change. When kids have access to spaces where they are free to explore their identities, discover their strengths, and express their dreams, they become empowered to create lasting change in their lives, in their communities, and beyond.” (litworld.org)
The Lexington Public Schools have joined in this mission along with millions of others around the world by having Dr. John Hakonson, LPS Superintendent, read the book Be Kind written by Pat Zietlow Miller and illustrated by Jen Hill to all Lexington Public School students.
