We have had a great start to the 2022-2023 school year! The students have been covering some interesting topics, including the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression in US History, and in Western Civilization, students have just finished up the Renaissance in Europe, and are moving into the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation.
Below is a picture from our last chapter in Western Civilization, the Renaissance. In the picture students are holding up a drawing they had just done. The drawing was an activity representing who Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo were as artists. For one side the students were asked to tape their paper to the bottom of their desk, lie down, and attempt to make a piece of art. The second, which represented Da Vinci, students were asked to practice being ambidextrous, which means they were to use both hands to write and draw simultaneously. They had a lot of fun doing these activities in class, and learning about the emergence of modern art.
