This year’s 400 national recipients rose to the top of over 4,700 applications. Of those 400, 40 are selected as National Winners and 360 are selected as National Honorable Mention recipients. This year Lexington High Senior, Maryssa Rodriguez was one of the 40 National Winners. Maryssa has been interested in computer science for many years and has learned several programming languages. Maryssa is currently learning Swift, a language used to program iOS devices. This senior aspires to combine her passion for helping others and computer science. Maryssa’s passion is leading her into neuropsychology, the study of the brain and combining her knowledge of the brain with her computer science abilities to help others.
