This week in Mr. Klein’s Intro. to Chemistry class students investigated the various properties of metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. First, they investigated physical properties such as color, luster, texture, and malleability. Malleability is a property of a substance to be pounded into a thin sheet. For chemical properties reactions with HCl and CuCl2 were tested. A positive result with either of these solutions was either gas bubble formation or a color change.
