Advanced Spanish 1 is a program designed to provide an active and rewarding learning experience for students to continue to strengthen their language skills and to develop cultural competency.
In this class we have different goals for our students who are native speakers or come from the dual language program at Bryan Elementary. We place an emphasis on authentic and practical vocabulary for them to be able to communicate in real situations. To accomplish this, guided and communicative activities are designed to develop confidence in their ability to use the foreign language.
In Advanced Spanish class we also recognize and celebrate diversity of the Spanish speaking world and its people. During the first quarter we integrate reading, speaking, writing, and listening activities with topics related to culture and History of Latin America and Spain.
Finally, we are implementing technology in different activities for students to learn in an easier, less stressful and fun way to practice vocabulary, better their pronunciation, and to acquire the language in a shorter period of time.
