As classes move into the second half of first semester, senior students work to fulfill requirements for College English and English 4.
The focus of College English is writing—specifically Argumentative, Persuasive, and Personal Narratives. Students taking the course will meet the requirements for graduation from Lexington High School as well as earn three hours of college credit.
In addition to writing, students study British Literature. Current selections include the Epic Beowulf and The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. In addition to preparing students for writing in their college courses, English 4 specifically focuses on the English courses they will be required to take once they enter college. –Mrs. Leick
