Students in Mr. Patocka’s Spanish classes will be reading stories from an excellent online literature website called commonlit.org/es/texts. The website is a combination of current events, pop culture stories as well as literature based on the history and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
The website is designed for readers as it features on the fly text enlargement (making it excellent for iPad reading sessions) as well as an interactive glossary that gives the definition of the word without having to leave the document on the screen.
This website features all articles in Spanish with levels of literature that vary from 3rd grade to the 12th grade and can be customized based on genre choice as well as Lexile reading level. All of these features make for an excellent website that engages students in a variety of literation in a vast selection of topics. This website requires no log in, no membership fees or costs.
