It is 7:45 A.M. and the LHS Boy’s Soccer Team has already been hard at work for over 30 minutes. The boys are taking part in a daily team study hall. The soccer team has been busy preparing, academically, since early October. Each soccer player is assigned to an academic team with a group leader. Each player reports his academic progress to his group leader on Fridays. The group leaders then report to team captains, Junior Casillas and Jason Tovar (shown below, right). The team captains assign players to academic study hall for the following week. Jason works closely with players who need academic tutoring or those who benefit from an academic mentor. The study hall program is a way to keep our student athletes competitive in the classroom every day.
