This year, the Lexington FFA chapter has been working very diligently at their competitions. They have been intensely studying and practicing to compete the best they can at Districts. All of their hard work has paid off immensely. On February 20, the Welding Team competed at their District competition, where they were District Champions, qualifying the team for State. The team includes Logan Dowling in Arc Welding, Caleb Dowling in MIG Welding, Juan Vega in TIG Welding, and Jose Sanchez in O/A Welding. Logan and Caleb both placed first individually, Juan placed second individually, and Jose placed fifth individually. In the last District competition the Lexington FFA Poultry Evaluation team were crowned District Champions. The team was made up of Logan Dowling, Madysen Wolfe, Luis Perez, Alssya Copper, Ronaldo Caballero, and Dustyn Sellers. Logan Dowling was District Champion, Madysen Wolfe placed second, Luis Perez placed third, Alyssa Copper placed 9th, Ronaldo Caballero placed eleventh, and Dustyn Sellers placed nineteenth. The Lexington FFA chapter will be competing in Lincoln, Nebraska, for their State competition from March 29 to the 31st. Congratulations to each team that competed and good luck at State.
