In Foods and Nutrition, we have learned the proper way to handwash, kitchen first-aid, safety, sanitation, and about microwaves. Recently we made vanilla mug cakes where the students practiced kitchen math and measuring. In the coming weeks, we will continue to build on our culinary skills and work on more advanced recipes.
In ELL Enrichment Foods, we have also practiced handwashing, kitchen first-aid, safety, and sanitation. With our microwave unit, the students made s’mores and they all loved trying them! In the next few weeks we will bake cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and then start on cooking.
