Feel Good Friday: LPS Staff Shout Out

feel good friday winner for MARCH 18, 2022 was NICOLE LOPEZ

Nicole Lopez specializes in early childhood special education for children ages 3-5 years old, and was nominated by Student Services Elementary Coordinator, Christa Anderson. Christa shared that Nicole’s expertise has been incredibly helpful as we prepare to transition students with exceptionalities from Preschool to Kindergarten. Nicole’s extra work that she puts in for these transition meetings is appreciated by her team. The information she shares with her team ensures that all students receive the supports they need to be successful as they enter the Kindergarten setting.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at LPS, Nicole shares that she loves connecting with her students and their families. She enjoys working together with her ELA family towards inclusion for special education students. Nicole also shares that her favorite thing is seeing the excitement from the students when they learn something new.

Nicole has worked at the Early Learning Academy since 2011. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her two young children, Lilianna and Kai, and watching them dance. Nicole is anxiously awaiting a trip to England this summer to visit her sister, and nephews, and also meeting her niece for the first time!

When we asked her what she would like to say to inspire gratitude in others, Nicole said, “Don’t forget to thank people every day for the big and the small things. It could be the difference in making someone’s day a little brighter.” We couldn’t agree more, Nicole. We appreciate all that you do for our LPS team, and for our students, and their families! Congratulations!

What are feel good Fridays?

Feel Good Fridays are celebrated the first and third Friday of every month where one staff member of LPS is recognized for their hard work and dedication they provide to the district. All staff members have the opportunity to nominate their colleagues in the days before the drawing.  All nominations are entered into a random drawing and one staff member is selected to be the spotlight for that week. Our winner receives a bouquet sponsored by Plum Creek Market Place Floral Department and a gift card donated by USave Pharmacy and Gifts.  It is our hope through spreading kindness and an attitude of gratitude we will continue to strengthen a positive culture at LPS.
