What do gummy snacks, funyons, cheetohs, and oreos all have in common? How are they different? That was part of the lab that Advanced Biology students were looking at this week. Students were examining the similarities and differences of 15 different snacks and creating a dichotomous key. This also allowed students to look at the homologous characteristics that they have in common and apply that to the rest of the lab on evolution.  By understanding how species are similar and how they are different, students are able to get a better understanding of the natural world.
