Students in Mrs. Perez’ English 1 class were faced with the challenge of writing a research paper as a group. The purpose of this assignment was for students to be introduced to the many parts of the research process. Each group member was in charge of a specific task. The topics students were given had to deal with the Native American Tribes in Nebraska and some surrounding states. Tribes that were researched included Lakota, Omaha, Arapaho, Pawnee, and Winnebago. Students commented that they liked working as a group and that it prepared them well for their individual papers.
