What's a Whirligig?

A whirligig is a wind toy that whirls or spins in the wind. It is also the title of the novel that English 2 S students are currently reading. Whirligig, by Paul Fleishman, is a story about a boy on a journey of repentance for a crime he committed. He reluctantly travels cross-country and builds whirligigs, but in the end he learns more about himself than expected. The whirligigs are found by a number of people who are also impacted in some way.

Students were asked to think about what they might build a whirligig in the shape of, and also where they would place it. We are excited to finish reading the book quarter.
