Hello! Welcome to Ms. Diaz Pre-Algebra classes. This is my very first year teaching Pre-Algebra at Lexington High School and I have loved every day of it. I continue to enjoy seeing all my students and seeing how they participate in extracurricular activities like band, cross country, tennis, and football to name a few.

We have been very busy this month adapting to different changes while learning the fundamental math skills needed in Pre-Algebra. Students have been doing a very good job wearing their masks and helping Ms. Diaz disinfect desks before and after class. Thank you to all the students who have stepped up and are helping disinfect in between classes.

Students are currently learning about integers (positive and negative numbers) and how they play an important role in the basics of Algebra. They have been learning about expressions, absolute value, opposites, and are currently learning about adding and subtracting integers.

Students do a very good job interacting with their peers to discuss their thinking process when working out practice problems and to determine which answer is the final correct answer.

I am very excited to see what the rest of the school year has for all my students! Go LEX !!!
