In an effort to give ELL students exposure to fine arts, four new ELL classes were created and implemented this school year. The classes are ELL Music, ELL Foods, ELL Art, and ELL Technology. Each class lasts one quarter with two being offered each semester. ELL Foods and Technology were taught during the first semester. ELL Music and Art are currently being taught. For each class, one ELL teacher partners with a mainstream teacher to provide language support for the students, and curriculum support for the mainstream teacher. Students have reported that they enjoy learning in classes that are more “hands on” and having assessments based on finished products.
