Ms. Temple’s homeroom enthusiastically embraced the 2021 Homecoming festivities and won 2nd place in the Lexington High School door decorating competition. In an effort to ramp up excitement for Homecoming Spirit week each Focus/Foundations of Leadership class had the challenge to participate in a door decorating contest. Ms. Temple’s homeroom created a Medieval castle gate and a drawbridge since LHS were set to play the Dukes in the Homecoming football matchup. Next, the group added the message “SLAM the GATE on the DUKES!” The students worked diligently during part of their focus period and sophomore Laikyn Seim and senior Bridget Orozco came in during their lunch and after school to help complete the project. It was a thrill to see the students work on the castle door decorating project. They collaborated to include ideas from many students and patiently worked together in a short time span to finish the decorating. It is an honor to mentor this wonderful group of students. I am proud of each and every one!
