Students in Mr. Klein’s 4th and 7th-period ecology classes recently completed their Plant Projects. For the project, students had to collect 30 non-cultivated plants, press them, and identify all of the plants by both common names and scientific names. The purpose of the project is to have students understand some of the plants that are common in Nebraska. Many students brought in plants like goldenrods, red-root pigweed, lambs quarters, purslane, and numerous species of spurge.
