On a recent billboard, the message was simple.

We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom.

With all the websites, news services, and social media apps – information can travel fast, but is it the correct information? Winston Churchill may have put it best when he said, “A lie gets halfway around the world before truth puts on its boots.”

For the English 2 Honors classes, it is the time of year for research papers, and finding information that is relevant to their topics is a priority. Each student is scouring sources for the information that will make their research efforts worthwhile.

At Lexington High School, students have the most up-to-date and reliable search engines, along with personnel to help the students.

Recently, Mrs. Buck, Media Center Specialist, visited the English 2 Honors classes to show

them what LHS has to offer. Among the many items to help students with researching the modern topics, the LHS Library Website gives students access to five databases that provide the latest verified research. Included in the databases are: EBSCO, World Book Online, netTrekker, Gale Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center and Nebraska Access.

English 2 Honor students will continue to use the modern research techniques and sources provided by LHS to produce research papers that are relevant and informative, while gaining wisdom along the way.
