Students in Mr. Zarate’s Anatomy and Physiology classes have recently had the opportunity to take their knowledge on the road. High school students were invited by Miss Todd to come to Sandoz elementary and to assist the 3rd grade students in dissecting cow brains, hearts, lungs, and eyes.

We had only started dissecting the cats and looking at skin when asked, so we had to take a break from the chapter we were in to learn the identification of parts, but it will help us in the future.

Miss Todd was able to get the cow parts donated from a local butcher, so it was great to see parts that had not been sitting in preservatives.

Students were able to spend 1 1/2 hours at the elementary school leading dissections and giving the 3rd graders hands-on experience with real body parts.
