Feel Good Friday: LPS Staff Shout Out

feel good friday winner for OCTOBER 1, 2021 is Joel Lemus.

Joel Lemus is one of three counselors at Lexington High School and the Head Coach for the Minutemen Soccer Program.  When asked what he enjoys most about working at LPS, Joel shares that he enjoys getting the daily opportunity to work with our students and being a part of their growing process whether it be academically, socially, or emotionally.

When not at school, Joel enjoys spending time with his wife, Nuria, and two small children, Benjamin and Isabel.  Joel also shared his excitement about his recent appointment of head coach for the men’s soccer program. He is looking forward to the challenges and successes of the season ahead.

When we asked Joel if there was anything he would like to say to inspire gratitude in others he shared that he hopes our staff remembers what we are here to do on a daily basis: to inspire and help our students become lifelong learners.  He further stated this can only happen if we lead by example in showing our gratitude towards others.

Congratulations, Joel!  LPS appreciates all you do, and we are proud of you!

What are feel good Fridays?

Feel Good Fridays are celebrated the first and third Friday of every month where one staff member of LPS is recognized for their hard work and dedication they provide to the district. All staff members have the opportunity to nominate their colleagues in the days before the drawing.  All nominations are entered into a random drawing and one staff member is selected to be the spotlight for that week. Our winner receives a bouquet sponsored by Plum Creek Market Place Floral Department and a gift card donated by USave Pharmacy and Gifts.  It is our hope through spreading kindness and an attitude of gratitude we will continue to strengthen a positive culture at LPS.
