Feel Good Friday: LPS Staff Shout Out
feel good friday winner for NOVEMBER 5, 2021 was RACHEL FAST.
Rachel Fast is a 4th grade teacher at Pershing Elementary. When asked what she enjoys most about working at LPS, Rachel shared that she loves working with others, both students and staff. Rachel explained that being a teacher gives her the opportunity to work with kids each day and getting to work with students truly brings a smile to her face and gives her purpose! Rachel loves Pershing. She says the staff and her colleagues make her job enjoyable and she can’t help but love what she does when the others around her are so positive and caring.
Rachel shared she comes from a family of educators. Her father and mother, Roger and Jan Neujahr, were in education and inspired her to follow the education path. Her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Abbie Neujahr are also educators with LPS. When not at school, Rachel loves to spend time with her family. She dearly appreciates the love and support from her husband, Ricci, and her daughters. She says they all keep her motivated and busy!
When we asked Rachel what she would say to inspire gratitude in others she shared that she fully believes waking up each day feeling grateful and blessed makes a difference in how we carry ourselves and how we treat others. Rachel stated her faith and family get her through and she is so blessed to work in Lexington.
Congratulations, Rachel! LPS appreciates all you do, and we are proud of you!
What are feel good Fridays?
Feel Good Fridays are celebrated the first and third Friday of every month where one staff member of LPS is recognized for their hard work and dedication they provide to the district. All staff members have the opportunity to nominate their colleagues in the days before the drawing. All nominations are entered into a random drawing and one staff member is selected to be the spotlight for that week. Our winner receives a bouquet sponsored by Plum Creek Market Place Floral Department and a gift card donated by USave Pharmacy and Gifts. It is our hope through spreading kindness and an attitude of gratitude we will continue to strengthen a positive culture at LPS.
