Transportation Information for 21-22 School Year

Lexington Public Schools strives to provide outstanding transportation services for our students. If you would like to request transportation for your student(s) for the 21-22 school year please fill out and return the enclosed transportation request, one for each child, by July 23, 2021 to Lexington Public Schools Central Office. They may be left in the drop box outside the Central Office front door. Or use the QR code below to request student transportation. Transportation requests will be evaluated and daily routes will be set up to benefit the most students.
Bus routes are available in town to shuttle children from their neighborhood school to their attendance center and back to their neighborhood school. As a reminder Kindergarten and 1st grade will be at Morton Elementary, 505 S Lincoln, 2nd & 3rd grade will be at Sandoz Elementary, 1711 N Erie, and 4th & 5th grade will be at Pershing Elementary, 1104 N Tyler. Bryan will remain K-5 dual language and transportation is not provided. Rural routes are available for non-option students living more than 4 miles from the nearest attendance center. Students planning to attend the After School Academy must do so at their attendance building only, no busing will be provided after Academy.
Students approved to ride the bus must have a SmartTag. You may pick up your child’s SmartTag and route information August 3rd –August 6th from 8:00am-2:00pm at the Central Office, 300 S Washington St. Students must have their SmartTag prior to riding the bus, the tag must be attached to the student’s daily backpack. All requests for changes in student transportation must be submitted to the business office one week prior to when the change is requested to take place. SmartTag is our student tracking system that uses RFID cards to track student ridership. Students will scan their card when getting on and off the school bus. One free card will be issued only to new students riding a daily route bus, all replacement bus passes will be $5 per card. All students attending Bryan, Morton, Pershing, and Sandoz, will have a backpack tag even if they are not riding a bus, these will be delivered to your child’s school and placed on their bag, they will not be available for pick up at the Central Office.
The first day of school is August 11th for PK, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, 11th, & 12th grade students. Students in grades K, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th & 10th will attend August 12th. All student will attend on Friday, August 13th.

Las Escuelas Públicas de Lexington se esfuerzan por brindar excelentes servicios de transporte para nuestros estudiantes. Si desea solicitar el transporte para su(s) hijo(s) para el año escolar de 2021 a 2022, favor de llenar y devolver la solicitud de transporte adjunta, una para cada niño, para el 23 de julio de 2021 a la Oficina de Administración de las Escuelas Públicas de Lexington. Se pueden dejar en el buzón que se encuentra afuera de la puerta principal de la Oficina de Administración. O puede usar el código QR a continuación para solicitar transporte para alumnos. Las peticiones de transporte serán evaluadas y se crearán rutas diarias para beneficiar al mayor número de estudiantes.
Habrá rutas para transportar a los niños desde la escuela más cercana a sus vecindarios a sus centros de asistencia y de regreso a la escuela más cercana a sus vecindarios. No olviden que los grados Kínder y primero asistirán en la escuela Morton, 505 S Lincoln; los de los grados 2 y 3 asistirán en la escuela Sandoz, 1711 N Erie; y los de los grados 4 y 5 asistirán a la escuela Pershing, 1104 N Tyler. La escuela Bryan permanecerá como escuela de dos idiomas y no habrá trasporte para esta escuela. Las rutas rurales están disponibles para los estudiantes que no tienen opción de vivir a más de 4 millas del centro de asistencia más cercano. Los estudiantes que planean asistir a la Academia después de las clases deben hacerlo solo en el edificio al que asisten para clases regulares, no habrá buses después de la Academia.
Los estudiantes aprobados para viajar en autobús deben tener una tarjeta inteligente (SmartTag). Puede recoger la tarjeta inteligente y la información de ruta de su hijo dese el 3 al 6 de agosto de 8:00 am a 2:00 pm en la Oficina de Administración, 300 S Washington St. Los alumnos deben tener sus tarjeta inteligente (SmartTag) antes de subirse a los buses, estas tarjetas deben atarse a las mochilas. Toda petición para cambios de transporte debe presentarse a la oficina de una semana antes de cuando se desee que el cambio ocurra. SmartTag es nuestro sistema de seguimiento de estudiantes que utiliza tarjetas RFID para rastrear a los alumnos pasajeros. Los estudiantes escanearán su tarjeta al subir y bajar del autobús escolar. Se emitirá una tarjeta a los estudiantes nuevos que viajen en un autobús diariamente. El costo de reemplazo para la tarjeta es de $5. Todos los estudiantes que asisten a Bryan, Morton, Pershing y Sandoz, tendrán una etiqueta en su mochila incluso si no toman el bus, estos se entregarán a la escuela de su hijo y se colocarán en su mochila, no estarán disponibles para recoger en el Oficina de Administración.
