Lexington Vocal Music

February 28, 2017

A lot of great work has been happening with our Lexington Vocal Music students. In January we had a very successful production of the musical, The Wizard of OZ. More than 50 of our student singers were on stage for this exciting production. Rehearsals began at the beginning of December and the students worked like crazy for two months. What a pleasure to see their hard work pay off with such an exceptional production!
Through the month of January you might have also noticed music students attempting to sell you tickets to visit The Waffleman at the Lexington Middle School. On January 29 th , The Waffleman visited Lexington and well over 600 people treated themselves to unlimited Belgian waffles. The event was a fundraiser for the MFAA (Minuteman Fine Arts Association) and raised over $5,000 to help support our high school fine arts programs. Our kids did such a great job selling tickets, The Waffleman ran out of waffles! Be sure to look for tickets next year and let’s break attendance records in support of our fine arts students!
The vocal music department is also pleased to announce that show choir auditions were held at the end of January and 16 students were selected to participate in the LHS Show Choir: Trey Fago, Erick Estrada, Jonathan Madison, Javier Rivas, Javier Garcia, Chris Rogers, Clay Hernandez, Cameron Vollmer, Rebecca Reik, Jalynn Huerta, Montse Manzo, Margarita Salas, Karen Franco, Jennier Sanchez and Sarah Brown. Congratulations to these 16 singers. Look for their performance at the end of the spring.
