The Vietnam War Years

April 26, 2016

In American History II class, we are currently discussing the steps that led the United States into Vietnam.  The classes have been actively engaged in the events that took place in Vietnam and why America became involved in it’s civil war.  Students have filled out graphic organizers, took detailed notes, and are watching documentaries over the conflict.  We will continue by examining the effects of the Vietnam conflict on American society and the opposing views of the hawks and doves. We will also be discussing how the media played a role in shaping the public’s opinion of the war and explaining the significance of the counter-culture on American society. The students really seem to be enjoying this unit!
