National Chemistry Week

October 24, 2017

The American Chemical Society sponsors National Chemistry week, which is from October 22 to October 28.  The highlight of the week is Mole Day, which takes place between 6:02 AM and 6:02 PM on October 23, 2017. The time and date are derived from Avogadro's number, which is approximately 6.02 × 1023, defining the number of particles (atoms or molecules) in one mole of substance, one of the seven base SI units.

Here at Lexington High School Chemistry I students made moles to celebrate mole day, Chemistry II students made iMovies, giving examples of bad science and will have a mole-themed potluck.
