THE FIRST STEP TO INCREASED WRITING SKILLS

Students in English classes are improving their writing skills with the use of the "Write Tools," a strategic approach to teaching how to write an essay.  This approach to writing gives students a structured way to plan how to compose their essays.  The first stage of writing begins with focus being given to instruction of the following three steps:

         T= Topic (Identify the topic.)

         A= Audience (Who is your audience?)

         K= Key Words (What are the key words needed to complete your essay successfully?)

After the first stage is of planning is completed, further steps are added such as different styles of introduction and conclusion sentences and supplying detail sentences.

As a teacher, it is exciting for me to see the progress being made in students' writing.  I know their hard work will pay off!
