System 44 for ELL
November 2, 2012
The English Language Learner classes have started using a new reading program from Scholastic called System 44. This system is a reading and phonics intervention program to help older readers understand the English Language system of 26 letters and 44 sounds. Each ELL classroom is doing a combination of small group, individualized computer instruction, reading and whole group lessons. The kids are finding success with a lot of high interest books and practice in reading, writing and spelling. This program was purchased to compliment the Scholastic Read 180 program that has been in place since last year.
