Kearney Bound Scholarship Program 2012-2013
September 18, 2012
Lexington High School and the University of Nebraska at Kearney are announcing the 6th year of the Kearney Bound Scholarship program. Kearney Bound is a scholarship program for 9th grade students who are first generation students (neither of their parents has a 4 year college degree), show strong academic promise, and have demonstrated financial need.
This past week in Foundations classes each 9th grade student heard about this program from LHS Guidance counselor Tim Davis and Michelle Westerbeck, UNK Kearney Bound coordinator.
Fifteen students will be chosen this spring. If selected to the program, the students will earn a complete four year scholarship to UNK. The students must meet certain strong GPA requirements and must participate fully in the program.
Any ninth grade student that qualifies may get an application from the high school guidance office on February 1, 2013. The application must be returned to the office by March 1, 2013. The winning students will be announced in April of 2013. Mr. Tim Davis is the local coordinator of the program. For more information please contact Mr. Davis at 324-1272.
