ELL Newcomer Social Studies Class Project

December 17, 2015

Students in Ms. Ripple’s ELL Social Studies class have recently finished learning about the Southeast Region of the United States.  To end the unit students created “suitcases” full of photos, souvenirs and a travel journal from their fictional trip to the Southeast.

The students were creative in planning and constructing their projects.  They created things such as seashell necklaces from the beaches of Florida to banjos from Appalachia and beads from Mardi Gras.   Once their projects were complete, each student presented their “trip” to the class.
