Mr. Klein's Science

September 13, 2013

Students in Mr. Klein's and Ms. Klein's (they are brother and sister, not married) Applied Science classes have spent the first weeks of school learning about the scientific method.  This week they got to put all that they learned in to action.  Students were told to predict how many drops of water they could fit on to a penny.  Then they tested their prediction.  Was their prediction correct or incorrect?  Also they had to identify the independent and dependent variables.  After several trials, the students then coated the penny is a soapy water solution.  The students then repeated the process.  This method of learning is called inquiry based learning and is tested over, specifically, by NeSA-S.
