Holiday Pops!

The FSC room at Lexington High School was alive with holiday cheer this month.    Holiday cake pops were on the list this year.  The students hoped that all the high school teachers would enjoy a festive treat last Friday at their luncheon.  The classes were in charge of the dessert.  They served snowmen, Christmas light bulbs, ornaments, wreaths, presents, and jingle bells.   

Four classes of Foods I students learned the art of creating cake pops.  No fancy pans are needed.  The cake pops consist of a cake mix, one small box of instant pudding, 4 eggs, 1 C. of water, and ½ C. vegetable oil.  For a full set of directions please email barbara.gydesen@esu10.org.

The Food's I students had to plan out their pops and decide what days they would perform  each step.  With a 48-minute class period the pop procedure had to be spread out over several days.  They also managed to take a semester test in between.  Once the pops were dipped they were each decorated in a specific Christmas design.  The best pops were chosen to be on display on Styrofoam Christmas presents for the Friday luncheon.  The students were proud of themselves and their decorating!
