Counting the days in Algebra 1A!

February 10, 2014

We are practicing word problem solving in Algebra class and are growing in the mathematical maturity that it takes to read a story, then create an equation that will, once solved, provide the necessary information in order to answer the question posed.

We began with area and perimeter word problems, and are now checking our understanding of percentage problems.

Here is a great example of what we are learning, practicing, and mastering in Algebra 1A class:

"There are 176 student school days this year at Lexington High School.  We will finish our 113th day this week.  About what percent of school days are left in the school year?"

Happy counting!
