Celebrate Week of the Young Child

April 22-28, 2012

Early childhood education is vital to our community.  Children need a strong early learning foundation to succeed in school and to succeed in life.

Make a difference in your community:

  • Support early literacy programs.  Early reading skills are crucial for young children to be ready for school.
  • Reach out and thank parents, teachers, and all adults who help young children get a great start.
  • Support policies at the local, state, and federal levels that provide high-quality early learning opportunities for all young children.

Events for the week:

  • Monday-Give thanks to educators who help make a difference in your child's life.  (Make a note with your child giving thanks to their teacher)
  • Tuesday-All preschool parents are invited to participate making posters to support Week of the Young Child.  Poster will be made from 3:15-4:00pm at ELA.
  • Wednesday-A treat will be given to all preschoolers.
  • Thursday-Ice cream feast will be served for all ELA teachers and staff
