Immunizations
All students are required to be immunized prior to enrollment, and any student not in compliance shall not be permitted to continue in school. Exemptions shall be granted for: 1) medical exceptions for health reasons substantiated by a signed statement from a physician; or 2) religious conflict substantiated by a signed, notarized affidavit from the student or the student's legal guardian, if the student is a minor. Students may be provisionally enrolled in a Nebraska school if they have started the required immunizations and continue to receive the necessary immunizations as rapidly as is medically feasible.

Summary of School Immunization Rules and Regulations 2012-2013-Spanish
Beginning July 1, 2011 and thereafter, 2 doses of varicella vaccine (chickenpox) will be required for all students attending school. This is a new regulation from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS - Title 172 Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 3). Students that have had the chickenpox disease do not need to be vaccinated, but need to have a statement on file at the school, showing the year of the disease and the signature of a parent or family doctor.
Parents have received notification of this new requirement. When a student receives their second vaccination, please submit a copy of the immunization record to the school secretary or the school nurses. If the student has had the chicken pox disease, but there is no statement on file at the school, this must be submitted also. Students not in compliance with this new regulation will be excluded from school in August 2011. Nebraska state legislature allows parents to waive immunizations for medical or religious reasons only. If you have questions about this new requirement, or if you are not sure about your child's immunization status, please contact the school nurses at 308-324-1219.
